Armond Seishas has spent over two decades in the ministry of Catholic Education. He is currently in his thirteenth year as principal of St. Joachim School where he also served as a teacher for seven years in the eighties and early nineties. Prior to his current position, he was principal of Our Lady of Grace in Castro Valley for four years. He received his BA in Political Science, his MA in Educational Leadership and his Administrative Credential from Cal State East Bay. Armond is a life-long parishioner and alumnus of St. Joachim School (‘71) and a graduate of Moreau Catholic High School (’75). He brings a strong sense of history and a unique perspective to his role as principal of his alma mater.Armond has devoted his career to strengthening and sustaining Catholic education both at St. Joachim and Diocesan wide. Among his accomplishments at St. Joachim are opening a preschool in 2004, instituting a One to One Laptop program in 2007 to ensure that students are receiving an education that will provide them with the skills that they need to be successful in the 21st century, and establishing a tuition assistance program in 2006 that makes Catholic education affordable and accessible to those in the parish who may otherwise not be able to afford one. He has served the Diocese in various capacities over the past 15 years. Currently he is a member of the Catholic Identity Committee, the Professional Development Committee, and Enrollment Committees of the Diocesan School Department in addition to his serving on the Diocesan School Board.
Armond and his wife Pamela, have a son, Andrew, who is also a graduate of St. Joachim School (’99) and Moreau Catholic High School (’03).
